Ericsson Begins Exporting India-Made AI-Ready Antennas to Global Markets
Ericsson has produced more than 15,000 telecom antennas and 25 million components through its Indian manufacturing ecosystem since July 2025, with India-made antennas now reaching Europe and other markets. The equipment supports standalone 5G, AI-ready networks and future evolution, expanding India’s role in Ericsson’s global engineering, production and supply network.
The export milestone moves India beyond serving its domestic telecommunications market toward supplying advanced network equipment internationally. Ericsson’s antennas support more intelligent, programmable and energy-efficient networks, making Indian manufacturing part of the global transition toward standalone 5G, AI-integrated infrastructure and future mobile technologies. Ericsson says it will expand Indian sourcing, engineering, manufacturing and exports with local technology partners. Antennas must be configured for different countries’ spectrum allocations and technical standards, potentially creating additional specialised manufacturing and engineering work in India.
April 2025: Ericsson announces plans to manufacture its Indian-market antennas locally and pursue exports.
July 2025 onward: More than 15,000 antennas and 25 million components produced.
7 October 2026: Ericsson confirms exports to Europe and other global markets.
Next phase: Wider localisation, production and international distribution.
