Germany and UAE Deepen $46 Billion Energy Partnership

Germany and the UAE have expanded energy cooperation covering offshore wind, LNG and energy storage as part of a broader €40 billion ($46.4 billion) UAE investment initiative supporting German industry. RWE and Masdar plan to explore German offshore-wind projects, while ADNOC and RWE are working toward long-term LNG agreements.
The agreements combine Europe’s push for energy security with its longer-term transition toward renewables. They also show Gulf producers increasingly investing in both conventional gas and clean-energy infrastructure in major European economies.
RWE and Masdar are expected to participate in German offshore-wind auctions in 2027, while RWE and ADNOC aim to finalize LNG supply agreements for deliveries beginning in the early 2030s. Additional renewable-energy and storage investments are also under consideration.
