Indian Passenger Among Heroes Who Helped Stop Flydubai Mid-Air Attack
An Indian passenger was among those who helped overpower a flydubai co-pilot after he allegedly stabbed the captain and attempted to crash the Dubai–Tel Aviv flight. The aircraft plunged nearly 14,000 feet before passengers and crew regained control. President Donald Trump later praised those involved in stopping the attack.
The dramatic intervention by passengers, including the Indian national, and crew potentially prevented a major aviation disaster involving 174 people. The incident has raised questions about cockpit security and pilot screening, while authorities continue investigating the co-pilot’s motive.
Saudi authorities are investigating the incident and questioning the co-pilot. Israel is also tightening security checks for pilots operating flights into the country. Flydubai has urged against speculation until investigators establish the motive.
