Singapore Sailors Finish Asian Games With Three Silvers and One Bronze

Singapore concluded its Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games sailing campaign with three silver medals and one bronze, all won by Games debutants. Ian Goh took boys’ ILCA 4 silver, while John Wong earned windsurfing bronze. Jania Ang and the 29er pairing of Nigel Tan and Sean Kum had earlier secured silvers.
This is the first Asian Games in 24 years that Singapore’s sailing team has finished without a gold medal. However, all four medals came from debutants, highlighting a new generation emerging in Singapore sailing.
Singapore will look to develop its young medal-winning sailors for upcoming international championships and future major Games, building on the experience gained in Japan.
